Really enjoyed the film, big fan of Kenneth Branagh's work since I saw Henry V, his 1996 Hamlet is likewise brilliant. In a day where Sherlock is so popular and well known, he wanted anyone that had not seen the 1974 film (which is not a crime) or is unfamiliar with Poirot to not feel like they were watching a Sherlock knockoff.
Perhaps seeing this film will motivate someone to see the 1974 masterpiece and apprentice not only these actors talents but the previous generation on actors.
