Review of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) by Agentz — 21 Nov 2020
I never watched the original film nor read the book it was based off of, but I watched this remake with some low expectations because I am not a fan of boring, intricate, slow-paced crime thrillers with underdeveloped and forgettable characters, but this movie turned out not to be as bad and uninteresting as I initially thought.
It was still a slow-paced and boring film, but what saved it from being a TOTAL snooze-fest was the amazing all-star cast (Kenneth Branagh, Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, Willem Dafoe, Penelope Cruz, Josh Gad, Daisy Ridley, etc.
), acting, directing, costumes, production value, and shocking but clever plot twist. I love Kenneth Branagh and I am a fan of him as both an actor and director. He, his eccentric but authentic and strong acting, and his character stood out for me in this film.
