Review of Muppet Treasure Island (1996) by John G — 29 Nov 2011
The muppets always know how to make an enjoyable movie and though this one is thin here, they still manage quite well. Filled with their usual meta jokes and strange songs, they make the film work over it's hour and a half, though I'd argue that this is there weakest in the string from 1978 original.
In some respects, it's trying too hard, and the kid, Kevin Bishop, is quite annoying, but the humor keeps its buoyant and makes it squeak by in the end.
