Review of Muppet Treasure Island (1996) by David E — 09 Feb 2014
A decent retelling of Treasure Island, but its chief liability is that is attempts to straddle two worlds. It can't fully do the original story justice, because of the presence of the Muppets, but neither can you get the most out of the Muppets' potential because they are tied to a more serious story.
In the end, though there are some great moments and Muppet fans will enjoy it, many viewers will be left cold.
