Review of Mulholland Drive (2001) by Pugowner — 22 Oct 2017
Easily one of the best movies of all time. David Lynch is absolute master of magic realism, dream logic, surrealism, and unsettling an audience. This isn't a movie you can watch casually, it will require your full attention.
I wasn't even sure I liked it the first time I saw it. But after rewatching it twice now, I can assure you it's some of Lynch's best work and probably one of my favorite films of all time. If you like movies that hold your hand and follow film conventions that have been beaten into the ground for decades, that's fine.
But if you want a movie that pushes the boundaries of what film can be, if you want a movie that actually feels like it means something to the director and his audience...watch Mulholland Drive.
