MD is an at times fascinating piece of filmwork like a visual poem with some high quality stylistic choices resulting (when at its best) in evocative moments with some of these provocative highs and lows providing a dream like quality. In almost the same moment this can quickly becomes cheap provocation for its own sake falling into a lo fi style of experimental wankiness. Overall I felt like there could've been something much better than what we got if the project focused under a lense that wasnt so abstract. For a film shot in the late 90's it has aged terribly. Overall it is clear this was an artist's mad dream laid bare to experience so if thats your jam - you will LOVE this.
