Review of Mulan (2020) by Shonen_Hero — 14 Sep 2020
This movie is robbed of all magic, music and romanticism that was featured in the animated film. Mulan is super underdeveloped as a character in this, and her arc feels flimsy considering her origin story and magical powers in the live action remake.
None of her strength feels earned, and the training montage is incredibly disappointing for those who enjoyed the training montage in the animated film. I recommend giving this a pass, and I encourage you to rewatch the old Mulan.
