Review of Mrs Brown (1997) by Rey D — 29 Aug 2007
I have yet to see something where Judi Dench doesn't rock out. The Dame's got class and acting chops like nobody's business and in true fashion, she works it in Mrs. Brown. If you're not into the typical British-old school romance vibe, you won't dig this.
But I loved it! Not only because the ageless story of unattainable love is something we can all relate to, but also because Gerard Butler's in this and you see him half naked in the ocean. Sadly, you see more of Billy Connolly in the buff in that scene.
BTW, while he's better known for his comedic abilities, Connolly's dramatic acting is quite good in this.
