Review of Mr. Turner (2014) by Andrew L — 05 Nov 2014
A brilliantly acted period piece, which rarely feels wooden (unlike so much of the genre). However, the biopic style lacks narrative focus, and the end result is a watchable film - but one that's rather wandering and overlong.
Despite this scope it omits crucial details, such as his snuff habit, which weakens the historical value markedly.
