Really the most interesting film I've seen in ages. the complex characters, the brilliant acting -- so deep into their characters, Hannah the maid dominates her scenes in spite of saying only five or six words in the entire film, and finally, Dick Cole's luscious cinematography (if you don't like the story, forget it.

just look at England in the early years of the 19th century.). the film is a rare trey.
