Review of Mr. Turner (2014) by Will J — 05 Nov 2014
I'm a 17 year old who studies film at college. I went to see this film with my grandad because we're both interested in art and because Timothy Spall is fantastic. To any young people interested in watching it; the film is quite long and there is an awkward sex scene (just in case you plan on watching this in the cinema with a relative).
Overall however, the narrative itself is very interesting and the visuals are mesmerising. Spall's performance as J.W.M Turner is just spellbinding. Who would've thought that such beautiful artworks would be painted by a man who communicates by grunting.
After watching the film, you feel like researching Turner himself, or even researching where his artworks are now.
