Review of Mr. Bean's Holiday (2007) by Patrick L — 24 Apr 2012
Boy Roeper is a lousy reviewer and he cannot review a movie on its own merits...boycott Richard Roeper, the most incompetent movie reviewer in history! Who are these reviewers that recommend this film for children? I hope they aren't parents....sheesh~!
I admit that I took a while to warm up to this film, even having watched the tv series (something the so-called reviewer Roeper probably never did), but the film has a strange charm of its own. I admit that more than Mr. Bean or Rowan, I really liked the young woman whom he drives to Cannes with. I'm not just referring to her looks but her quirky character (I consider the language feature a vital asset on the dvd).
Yes, the film is absurd and hard to warm up to but give it a chance. I do think this one was better than the first Mr. Bean and how rare is that, for the sequel to outshine the original?
Only a few other reviewers were more gracious about this film than I was...obviously people have differing opinions.
