Review of Mr. & Mrs. Smith (1941) by Jillian H — 11 Jul 2010
Delightfully funny screwball comedy that was oddly enough directed by famed Hitchcock who is mostly known for thrillers, intrigue, and complex relationships. It stars Carole Lombard and Robert Montgomery who play a married couple and find out by a mere technicality, they're not really married.
So they part ways and the rest of the movie has Montgomery's character relentlessly pursuing Lombard convincing her to marry him, this time for real. Obviously it's not one of Hitchcock's masterpieces, but it's interesting to see his take on the screwball genre.
