Review of mother! (2017) by Sophia W — 24 Sep 2017
I thought it was rather good, cause I read up on the meaning behind "Mother!" before I saw it. Thank god I did. Most people (my age) walked out of the movie, expecting a movie like "rosemary baby".
But it was nothing like that. Instead it was very poetic and somewhat hidden religious undertones...actually HEAVY religious undertones. Too bad they made God (aka: Javier Bordem) seem like a selfish prick who didn't give a damn about Mother Earth (Jennifer Lawrence), which I DO NOT AGREE WITH.
But I was expecting something weird and poetic from Darren A. directing. I was very interested in everything, regardless of how they made Christianity look BAD.
