Review of Motel Hell (1980) by Stormy R — 28 Dec 2009
This is an odd little horror/comedy. Being a huge, huge eighties horror fan I managed to miss this one and tracked it down after seeing a preview for it at an eighties horror film festival recently. This is an unusual film and has some absolutely golden quotes such as Vincents dying words '.
..And I was the biggest hypocrite of them all - I used preservatives...'. The gurgling people are unsettling as is Terry's totally random attraction to Vincent (which made me feel a bit ill). Motel Hell is worth a look for eighties horror fans but unfortunately it is quite boring.
It is very slow, very dark and it is not particularly violent or gruesome. It is just an odd little horror flick.
