Review of Motel Hell (1980) by Senor C — 25 Oct 2011
I must say that Rory Calhoun is one carismic mother-fucker. I would eat his smoked meat even if it was made of human flesh. Damn Im getting hungry for jerky just typing this. Motel Hell grows on me every time I watch it.
It's sorta a homage to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre but more subdued for the most part. Well it sorta runs away w/ itself w/ dueling chainsaws @ the end. Love that fucking pig head. Its comedy is black as a warlock's nutsack.
Nancy Parsons is sly hilarious & Calhoun's smile puts a smile on my face. Needed more Wolfman Jack though. Keep an eye for John Ratzenberger as a member of the heavy metal band Ivan and the Terribles.
So fucking awesome they should have had their own spin off.
