There are some pretty big chunks of the movie which aren't great. Some of the cast don't really fit the role that well. Raiden and Shang Tsung in particular didn't fit at all. Scorpion was great though, the actor playing him has a very commanding presence which fit very well.

There are some fun fight scenes, it's pretty faithful to the franchise and some fun gory scenes. It's disappointing and not nearly as memorable as the original mortal kombat film though. I hope if they make more they can do better.

It's a great franchise and deserves better.
