Review of Moonrise Kingdom (2012) by Grant B — 07 Oct 2013
Like all Wes Anderson films, Moonrise Kingdom merges the surreal, the sad, and the silly, this time in an earnest story of young love. What's remarkable is that there isn't a hint of cynicism about Sam & Suzie's future.
His quirky writing and directorial style definitely appeals to an arthouse crowd but Anderson's films always seem to occupy a real space and portray real emotion as well as any other filmmaker's.
