Review of Moonraker (1979) by Garrett Y — 24 Mar 2008
K guys, this is it. The Spy Who Loved Me made a shit-load. Star Wars came out in '77, we've gotta go bigger and better. Everything's already going well but we feel it necessary to fuck things up. So here's the pitch. James Bond...IN SPACE. WHAT THE FUCK?!
This movie has way too many space movie references. AND WHY THE FUCK WOULD JAWS TURN GOOD?! The only thing that could have made this worse, would have been if he said "I believe that jacket is Mr. Gilmore's." This is James Bond at the height of its lameness. Regardless of how awesome Holly Goodhead is...I just can't get past, "James Bond...In Space." Not cool. However I would still watch this shit over Die Another Day. If I could however give this movie a compliment, it would get the "Most Fucked Up Bad-Guy Diabolical Plot" Award. Considering the fact the Hugo Drax is pretty much Hitler, obsessed with creating a master race and just destroying the world. Scary, yeah. It sucked though.
