Review of Moonraker (1979) by Stanis?Aw D — 07 Dec 2009

This movie is loaded with corniness and issues which are:

- The people who know martial arts in this movie always scream loud outbursts everytime they try to attack someon.

- Another villain in this movie is named Jaws, who is very hard to kill, considering that he crashed into the cable car control center and survived, he also survived from falling down a waterfall. Jaws also meets a girl that he really likes, it then plays a love song that usually plays when 2 people are looking at each other romantically, and then Jaws walks away holding this girl's hand. Since this happened you'd think that Jaws won't show up again, you'd be wrong to think that because the power of love is not strong enough to keep Jaws from trying to kill James Bond. It shows this in the way that Jaws suddenly shows up very quickly chasing after James again in a speedboat chase scene. Wow! Jaws is very persistent, his employer must be paying him a lot of money just to kill one man. I guess Jaws has to make a living someohow.

- The main villain of this movie: Hugo Drax wants to kill James Bond, even though James didn't do anything to foil his evil plans yet, until after Drax tries to get him killed.

- There's not enough action scenes in this movie that involve James Bond fighting bad guys.

- The Bond girl that James meets is weak and simplistic.

- This movie's plot is stupid as hell and hit as too much bad and corny writing.

- In the opening of this movie it shows that Drax's shuttle called the Moonraker was destroyed by people who hijacked it and crashed it somewhere. The problem here is that Drax owns the Moonraker and the Moonraker got destroyed at the beginning of the movie, so why is Drax trying to kill James? This movie's plot makes no sense.

This movie is only good for a few laughs because of the mass amount of corniness that can be found in it. 6/10.
