Review of Monsieur Verdoux (1947) by Jonathan S — 08 Jul 2008
One of the very, very best Chaplin pictures, until the last ten minutes that is, however it's not a bad ending just as it is mixed. It is a classic though, and something to see for an idea of how a personality like Chaplin can make such a character like Verdoux not only likeable, but somehow elegant in his anti-hero manner.
