Review of Monkey Business (1952) by Amanda H — 14 Jul 2008
Okay, so why the heck is Marilyn on the cover? I know that it must be the Marilyn series... but her character did not validate that publicity. It just angered me a taaad. I think the acting in this was so much fun for Ginger and Grant-- it was HILARIOUS and they did it quite flawlessly.
I was first impressed with Grant when he was acting like a "twenty-year-old"-- that ENERGY! Then Ginger was amazing playing a ten-year old. It was all so screwball. I loved it from the opening when Cary opens the door "too fast" and you hear Howard (I'm assuming) Hawks say, "Not yet, Cary"-- I rewound it and watched it again! OH, I was BESIDE myself laughing at points.
Wonderful. One of my favorite Grant films.
