Review of Monkey Business (1952) by Masorad ( — 28 Nov 2010
It is one of those films to me that is shockingly funny. Usually, I have a bias that films like this are not very funny. This one is great. The acting of Monroe, Grant, and Rogers is outstanding. Rogers, in particular, is the best.
She goes from a loving housewife to a dysfunctional nut after drinking the youth potion, created by Grant. Monroe is her fantastic old self of unsophistication and beauty while Grant has both his charm and, in addition, silliness associated.
Hawks may have been dissapointed by his creation, but I certainly was not. Fun film.
