Review of Money Monster (2016) by Jimmy M — 10 Sep 2016
Julia Roberts gives a remarkable performance that keeps the audience's attention. That was very much key to the movie, which tries to blend economic mumbo-jumbo in with a typical action movie setup.
The two don't go well together, especially in a 90 minute span. It felt at times like trying to chug a milkshake through a coffee stirrer. The suspense does succeed in entertaining, but whatever economic statements the movie tried to make beyond the normal Wall Street corruption is beyond me.
