Review of Mona Lisa (1973) by Buddy K — 20 Apr 2008
Classic stuff. Goes well with Bob Hoskins' other great gangster movie the long good friday. Hoskins should have won the Oscar for this and Michael Caine probably should have been nominated for his smaller yet well played role.
The scene with the sunglasses towards the end is one of those that works so well as something both funny and heartbreaking. The final scene could have been cut off and the film would've still been fine but it doesn't really affect the film either way.
Great movie.
