Review of Mon Oncle (1958) by Jer M — 07 Mar 2009
Tati's films are always lauded for its humour and classic gags but I think his visual style is also worth mentionning. Mon Oncle, for example, is beautifully shot and translates the cozy little French village atmosphere to the screen beautifully making its contrast to Hulot's posh, over-modernised family even more effective.
Sweet, funny and clever, Mon Oncle is great fun. A little long though.
