Review of Mon Oncle (1958) by Ian F — 10 Dec 2010
I think this film is Tati's pinnacle. The reason I give is that it is humour that works on satire as opposed to "Mr. Hulot's Holiday" that works on pure gags and the later "Playtime" that is more critical satire.
Here the comedy is a smart but slick style. Plus it looks great and presents Tati's Mr. Hulot at his best!
