I absolutely have to watch this again before giving this an official score. I was up-and-down with the film so many times with different expectations each time. I think the weight the film carries will be felt a lot more with the next viewing.
It's my first Dolan film and it reminds me of a more sophisticated, but just as transgressive, Harmony Korine and Todd Solondz. I think the actress who played Kyla deserved an Oscar nomination so hard.
The title of the film gives this film two different perspectives and I think I'm going to appreciate that even more with the second viewing.
