Saw this as a kid and discovered it again via Tip of My Tongue on Reddit. It's corny and has all the bad qualities of Coneheads and other 90's sci-fi spoofs, but it's fun and does what it sets out to do as a family film.
Oh and those mushrooms will probably give younger kids nightmares...
