Molly's Game.

Molly's Game is the directorial debut of Aaron Sorkin, one of the best screenwriters of our time. The movie is about a former Olympic class skier, who injures herself during a ski run. She then grows up to run her own poker business, which gets her into trouble. Molly's Game is so simple and at some points, it can come off very ridiculous. But Sorkin finds a way to make this simple concept very entertaining. Aaron Sorkin can make even the most boring scenes seem **** entertaining. Aaron Sorkin's direction is very lazy and dull. But he's a first time director, and I won't give a point off, because he's mostly a writer, not a director. But his fast, quippy and competent dialogue, keep the film going. I always enjoy his stories and characters. His complicated story isn't hard to understand. He's very smart in the he presents his dialogue and characters. This film has great moments of monologue. There are certain scene's in this film that go on forever, which I'll get into later. But most of those scenes are monologue scenes. And the writing is stellar and brilliant in those scenes. This film is also amazingly well acted. Jessica Chastain gives the best performance of her career. She's so powerful in every scene she's in. Idris Elba is also fantastic in this film. Kevin Costner is also brilliant. Literally every actor in this film is fantastic. The tone is consistent throughout the movie. Never, does it ever stray off course. It keeps going and going till the movie ends. I do have negatives. The biggest problem with this movie are that scenes go on for too long. And when they do, the scenes start to drag. And also with the scenes, there are some scenes that could have been cut out. The music is also lame and simple. Probably could've gotten a better composer. And I didn't like way the film ended. It was so cheesy and so cliché. Overall I loved Molly's game. I really wanna see where Aaron Sorkin goes as a director and can't wait to see what he does next.
