Review of Modern Times (1936) by Richard T — 20 Apr 2009
Chaplin's greatest silent film is this comic gem from 1936. Okay, so it's not completely silent, but still. In this film, The Little Tramp is caught up in the whirlwind of the modern age. The beauty of this film is that it still manages to make its statement all these years later.
Its artistry is never-ending, and it is a perfect film. There are many iconic images in this film, but there is so much more to the film than that.
