Review of Modern Times (1936) by Leighton T — 17 Jul 2010
Chaplin manages to hit the heart, the mind, and the funny bone here. A beautiful classic. The story is laid out perfectly converging the two stories of the boy and the girl and how they want to make a life for themselves together.
The commentary within the work-related scenes speaks to a time where there were not only great changes in the work industry, but Chaplin's own profession, film, was also going in a very different direction.
