Really quite a poor outing. Medium movie that more falls on the poor side of medium. In the 80's or 90's a medium - poor movie would have had some kind of kitsch value that would have held your intrigue for the whole movie. This one however has a split dichotomy of some moments that are really good but lots of moments that are really boring. It's hard to connect to the characters, they are not convincing enough.
It has some quite heavy emotional stuff going on for a kids movie. The characters seem to stay in their 1 dimensional tropes for a long time. There are too many songs and it feels like it is just to pad the film out. I would rather have less running time than tiddly songs but I suppose that is a personal preference.
Some glimpses of great things but overall this was too long and could have been better.
