Boasting a thrilling seafaring adventure of the eponymous wayfinding heroine and the free-spirited demigod Maui, Disney's respectful homage to the Polynesian mythology and heritage delights with luscious palette and catchy tunes but the hackneyed narrative is not quite setting sail to a new frontier of female empowerment in a Disney princess movie.
