Review of Mission Blue (2014) by Isamar G — 26 Nov 2017
Mission Blue is a very powerful and informative film that has shown me a lot more about the ocean than I knew before. By following all of Dr. Sylvia Earle's life accomplishments and everything she went through and achieved throughout her life, it has been inspiring to see that she was able to awake people and get people to change all the harm we are causing.
By being the first woman to accomplish great things in the field and being one of the first to go on such amazing expeditions across the sea, she is inspiring to all other woman trying to achieve something.
She convinces the audience that the ocean is such a huge and amazing place that although we think cannot be harmed, it is being harmed by us. Millions of people cause harm to the ocean and it's creatures, with things such as shark finning, because they think that it is so big it cannot be harmed, but it can be.
The ice caps are melting and many sea creatures are constantly being harmed for human needs. Her campaign to create a global network of protected marine sanctuaries is certainly an amazing deed and everybody should learn of what she is doing so that together we can save the ocean.
