Review of Mission Blue (2014) by Juliana K — 11 Nov 2017
Very well-done documentary, on multiple fronts. Beautifully shot, very compelling, but also didn't come across as preachy propaganda. Dr. Earle is admirable and a very strong advocate; she speaks with such passion and clarity, and in such a forthright manner.
Highly, highly recommend. As one of the people mentions at the end, it's difficult to convey to people the dramatic impact we're having, because unlike with some of the other environmental damage we've made, it's not as obvious initially-we can't see what's below the ocean surface, we can't see it immediately like we can with forests or glaciers or smog, etc. So the ocean is dying, dramatically and at a stunning rate, and most people don't even realize it.
