Review of Miss You Already (2015) by Jon C — 07 Nov 2015
Catherine Hardwicke's direction is very smooth here even if a subject such as cancer is hard to process for anyone.
Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette work such wonders together as best friends growing up doing everything first.
The big change though is Milly gets somewhat of a grim development while Jess gets a positive one.
The movie has its share of happy moments and sad ones but it never intentionally toys with the emotions.
Milly learns to cope with her condition the best she can and Jess doesn't want to make it worse by sharing her good news.
The best moments are the ones that are right in front of us when life is at its roughest.
Not too heavy but not manipulative in the slightest.
Some tears are deserved as well as some laughs.
