Review of Miss Sloane (2016) by Jaime L — 11 Dec 2016
I feel I've been seeing this a lot this year but this is yet another great performance in the lead role from Jessica Chastain but with an overall movie that was very mediocre. Felt like an extended episode of the West Wing, was wondering if Aaron Sorkin wrote this but I suppose it was just channeling his dialogue.
I found the whole plot to be ridiculous though and I thought the actions of Ms. Sloane to be unrealistic to how her character was set up to be. I felt like the writers lied to me really, setting her up one way and then turning her around.
Don't care for that kind of thing at all. Still, it managed to hold my brain in low power mode at least so it could be a cable watch if you want to see a forgettable political film. Though if anyone has strong ideas towards gun control one way or the other perhaps not.
