Review of Forty Guns (1957) by Miles B — 27 Aug 2007
Okaaaaaaay, so I dug the horse rampage around the cart at the beginning & some of the dialogue was pricelessly hard boiled, which is a virtue in a cowboy flick, but.... for the life of me I could not work out what was going on.
Who is shooting who? Why do all of the men in hats sort of look the same? What the hell has happened to Barbara Stanwycks chin? Still, any gunfight that ends when one fellow biffs the other with his pistol.
.. or was it his fist, gets my vote. I maintain I did not fall asleep during this film.
