Review of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016) by Dave J — 28 Aug 2017
Adapted by the Jane Goldman children's novels of the same name starring Jake (Asa Butterfield) who at first doubted his grandfather's stories involving a group home for unwanted mutated children with unique abilities during WWII.
And it's not until his grandfather, Abe(Terence Stamp) became the latest casualty which he begins the journey to seek whether his grandfather's stories are true. . The family therapist then encourages the parents to allow their son Jake to visit some the same monuments his grandfather endorses.
And upon going with only the father to this island would be his first peculiar encounter with a cave nearby that acts like a time warp. Leading the group of peculiar children is Miss Peregrine herself played by Eva Green who carries with her a pocket watch as a result of deja vu.
