Review of Milk? (2012) by Mónica A — 29 Jan 2012
Sean Penn and human kind broke my heart. It is certainly a bit comforting to see that society has come a long way since those days, and that in most countries even hinting at stealing people's rights simply because of their sexual orientation is unthinkable.
And to think that a simple man who was simply tired of hiding in the closet contributed so much to that is beautiful. But I think his most important achievement lies not in defending gays per se, but in defending individuals and their right to privacy.
Milk was a scared and yet fearless man, and all of us owe him for freeing society from its own prejudices.
