Review of Mikey and Nicky (1976) by Branko D — 23 May 2013
Leisurely paced; some may say meandering. Everything's all very on-the-fly and seemingly improvised with startling realism -- sometimes just TOO realistic to barely endure! Fascinating stuff, though, about friendship and loyalty, and when the line gets drawn.
Its denouement is powerfully tragic and startling...! It left me devastated.... Definitely for mature and discerning tastes; it demands to be seen by anyone with patience for a slow-brew explosion....
