Review of Midnight Special (2016) by Steven B — 10 Apr 2016

Here is another fine movie no-one is seeing. While it is a SciFi flic, it is much more than that. The movie actually focuses on the relationship between a father and son. It does have elements of chase movies and does have a fair amount of action.

The main thing about this in my mind is the almost perfect acting. All the roles, but especially Jaeden Lieberher as the boy. He is just terrific. Michael Shannon as always delivers, but everyone else keeps up with him.

I won't say much about the particulars because this movie is so well crafted there isn't much to throw away. If you get a chance, and it is in limited release, go see this; I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it.
