Review of Midnight Special (2016) by Ian C — 22 May 2016
An engaging sci-fi thriller from Jeff Nichols. A throwback to the government chase flicks of the 70s and 80s. A real feel of E.T off it. The score from David Wingo is excellent and elevates the atmosphere.
A brilliant lead performance from the always excellent Michael Shannon but it is letdown by lack of evil government agent and the finale that is the movie's premise is a real anti climax.
