Review of Midnight Special (2016) by Landon J — 21 Dec 2018
Boiling the plot down to its essence, we have a movie about a family struggle against the Government and Religion as both factions try to take the son away and what the parents (or more specifically a father) will do to keep him. The movie had an interesting plot and I did enjoy the movie but it started in the middle of the store. There is a whole component of the movie missing. How did the kids end up on the Ranch (the religious group)? How did the NSA get involved and learn about the kid? How did the father fight to get his son back from the Ranch? All of these parts of the movie are covered in a line or two but I do feel they could have been more on these subject. I think with these components add in the movie, we would have been more involved with the characters and their struggle.
Anyway, it is not a half bad movie but it is something you can wait for to come out in DVD.
