Review of Midnight Special (2016) by Matthew C — 04 Aug 2016

Midnight Special feels like an epic puzzle with way too many pieces missing. The audience is left in the dark guessing almost everything about this film, this is not an element of cinematographic success in my opinion.

We're introduced to the main characters in a very forced and fast paced way which along with overall poor character development makes it extremely difficult for the general audience to form an emotional connection with them.

Jeff Nichols ambitions for this film unfortunately made him lose touch with reality.
