This movie reminded me of The Abyss, not because of the story per Se, but because of the underwhelming "resolution" at the end. While we are trying to figure out who the bad guys are (the creepy church/cult; the FBI; the NSA, etc.
), the movie is really good and the suspense is maintained. As soon as the mystery is solved, we slide into very fluffy, cutesy ending that is not very satisfying.
