Review of Midnight Special (2016) by Mike L — 07 Jan 2017
A calculated 80s throwback that manages to be one of the better quasi-mystical alien films of an era in which it wasn't actually released. While the supporting cast range from decent enough to underutilised, Shannon is as astounding as usual, and his central relationship with his son is what pushes the film outside the sci-fi ghetto.
