Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The boy's mysterious powers are explained in a throwaway line and the flimsy explanation doesn't satisfy! Although the acting was good, the special effects were kind of cheesy and unbelievable.
The film reminded me of the dreadful M. Night Shyamalan film: Signs and, like that film, left me with a WTF feeling at the end.
