Review of Midnight Special (2016) by Ethan B — 20 Apr 2016

A well-made movie with interesting ideas, great performances from the cast, and stellar filmmaking craft. But the story, with all of its loose ends, abstractions and guessing games, kept me from loving this film.

I don't mind abstract movies, but then the journey, or the characters, or something has to grab me and keep me interested emotionally and/or intellectually, and Nichols failed for me on that front.
